Foul Mouth

Here Comes the Whore

Here comes the whore in her leather pants

Classic whore outfit

You could at least try to disguise your whoreness

With broderie anglaise or a checkered skirt below the knee

Here comes the whore with her honey voice

Dripping all over the floor

Making a sticky mess

Here comes the whore

Out of breath

From all the lying, no doubt

Here comes the mean girl

Where do you get all the audacity

To show your face in these high grounds?

Here comes the slut

Sweaty and messy

Must be

From fucking the neighbourhood

And beyond

Here comes the traitor

Looking for redemption

Well, go look somewhere else

Around these parts

We care very little for people of your kind

We’ll give you the look

We’ll politely say hi

But not another word

Because we’re a classy bunch

Unlike you

With your foul mouth

From sucking dicks left and right

Go back to your land

You’re so promiscuous

You must be from France

You stick out

Like a pig in a dress at a beauty pageant

You try to buy us out

With far too dark chocolate and steak au poivre

You try to coax us

With your tasteless jokes

You try to blend in

Pathetically, we might add

Bleaching your hair blonde

Working a 9 to 5

But your ashy eyebrows and opulent cleavage give you away

We may have tried to get into your bed, too

But that was before

Before we knew you were an easy girl

Now we despise you

And it has nothing to do with the fact that you rejected us

Nothing at all

A digital illustration of a purple, floral-painted nude woman standing tall above a crowd of classical grey and white statues. Phrases from the poem are written across the statues and base in red lettering, including "here comes the whore," "classic whore outfit," "you stick out," and "with her honey voice dripping all over the floor."

New Tongue

This language that is not mine allows me to say

Fuck

And fuck me harder

It allows me to escape the judgment of my birth nation

It lets me speak in front of strangers the most intimate of truths

It lets me criticise my mother

And offend my father

It grants me access to buried desires

It gifts me a gateway to my clandestine identity

It gives me the confidence to be ridiculous

It lets me tell the punch line

Put on made-up accents like costumes

And shock the good boy with the crudest of jokes

Deliciously direct idiom

It offers me distance

Between who I was brought up to be and who I am trying to become

It loosens my tongue

And plumps my lips as I charm the neighbourhood

I’ll rizz up your aunt

I’ll tell off the men

I’ll defy your dad

I’ll ask you about your darkest secret

I’ll shamelessly ask if you want to be my friend

It unleashed me

I should have moved long ago

A digital illustration of two figures facing each other against a red and pink checkerboard background. A red ribbon-like tongue loops from one figure's mouth around the other's face. Fragments of the poem's text are scattered across the walls around them, including "new tongue," "deliciously direct idiom," and "between who I was brought up to be."
